NPACE Pre-Conference Workshop(s) Registration

Three-hour intensive programs covering the latest updates in clinical practice (3.0 contact hours). Enrollment is limited; Lecture style format; Open to Main Conference Registrants only. Sessions are offered as 3 hours in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. 


Convenient Care Association (CCA) Healthcare Consumerism Workshops 

NPACE and the Convenient Care Association (CCA) have partnered to provide 6 hours of CNE/CME education on “The evolution of healthcare - access to high quality, low cost primary care in retail clinics - partnerships, policy & technology,” on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at our Orlando Conference Workshop day.


Workshops are open to all NPs and PAs attending the NPACE Primary Care Conference at the regular Workshop rate of $95 per 3-hour workshop, and open to any NP or PA who wishes to attend just the Workshop Day for $125 per 3-hour workshop. This Workshop Track is highly recommended for NPs and PAs in the healthcare consumerism setting as leadership personnel from the top providers will be presenting the workshop programs this day.

Speaker: Stephanie Ahmed, DNP, FNP-BC, DPNAP

Keynote Session: The Body Politic:  Advancing Policy as Nursing Praxis

As Director of Nursing for Ambulatory, Dr. Ahmed serves in the capacity of Nursing Director across the expanded ambulatory enterprise of Brigham & Women's Hospital, in Boston, MA. In her capacity of Director, Stephanie has a key role as clinical leader of the discipline of nursing and is actively engaged in the organization's care redesign initiatives. She is a nurse practitioner, and coordinated the complex care of the nation's first partial face transplant patient at the Brigham.

Recognizing the value of the DNP to expand the leadership skills of the Advanced Practice Nurse, she completed a DNP in administration. She has served as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing, in Worcester, MA, where she taught Trends in Nursing and further provided instruction and oversight for the DNP Residency program. She has served in both faculty and lecture roles in various Boston-based nursing programs including the MGH Institute of Health Professions where she taught Adult Primary Care Seminar and Professional Issues in Nursing, and also at Simmons College where she served as faculty for Leadership and Management in the Clinical Setting.

Dr. Ahmed has been involved in leadership roles with several professional societies, including STTI (Chapter Secretary for the Upsilon Lambda Chapter), the Institute for Nursing Health Care Leadership (Associate) representing the consortium of Harvard –affiliated Nursing Services, and the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners where she has served as president and legislative co-chair, leading the organization’s legislative filings for NP full practice authority.

Acknowledged nationally for her work to advance nursing practice and a commitment to interdisciplinary team work, Dr. Ahmed is a fellow of the National Academies of Practice and holds the title of Distinguished Practitioner. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited speaker both nationally and internationally. Dr. Ahmed is editor and contributing author to DNP Education, Practice, and Policy: Redesigning Advanced Practice Roles for the 21st Century. Stephanie is a Watson Scholar, engaged in post-doctoral education related to Caring Science with internationally renowned nurse theorist, Dr. Jean Watson, at the Watson Caring Science Institute at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
